The management team is comprised of individuals with experience in the clothing and leather industry across the value chain. As the main focus of the business is product innovation and design, we have assembled individuals with design, retail and manufacturing expertise in the team.
Mr. Reggi Xaba – Managing Director
Reggi has over 20 years experience in manufacturing retail and imports trading. He graduated from Durban University of Technology with a diploma in clothing design in 1993 before joining Futura Footwear (BATA) as a trainee designer for footwear. This is where he nurtured his skills as a footwear designer for varied product categories including men’s leather, sports and children shoes. He joined Woolworths to train as a buyer in 1996 and worked for five years, eventually leaving them as a senior buyer for men’s footwear in 2001. He joined Truworths to establish their footwear business and succeeded to grow the footwear business by 300% in four years. While working at Woolworths and Truworths he also developed the skills to develop and source product from international sources in China and India. He used these skills to establish his own company Yellow Folder Trading, which focused on working with international sources to produce footwear, designed in South Africa. His successes in this venture include launching Carducci, C Squared, Viyella and Democratic Republic footwear collections, which were well received by the market. He has worked very well with retailers such as Markham and Edcon producing footwear for their in-house brands. Reggi was received an award as a Fashion Innovator of the Year 2015 by the Durban Fashion Fair organizing committee.
Ms. Khanyi Mashimbye – Corporate Marketing Director
Khanyi graduated with a Diploma in Fashion Design and technology from Cape Peninsula University of technology. She joined Woolworths in 1999 and worked for four years before leaving as a senior Buyer in Women’s wear. She joined EDCON in 2003 as a Specialist Buyer where she received accolades for the Best Performing department and Buyer in 2004. In just over a year, she was promoted to Divisional buying manager responsible for buying teams, which included senior managers consisting of Buyers, Planners and Merchandise controllers as well as their assistants. This is where she honed in her skills in leadership and people management. Khanyi received awards for the Best performing division for Edgars stores for the year 2006 and 2008 achieving the best turnover in the chain store (R850million and over 1,2 Billion). She joined SAIL (South African Investment Limited) Sports and Entertainment in late 2008 as an Executive for the Merchandise Division. She expanded her experience in marketing and brand building. She worked with multiple South African Brands across different sectors which included Sports, entertainment, banking, telecommunication, government and mining to name a few. She established a direct imports company during her tenure at SAIL. She moved to the Democratic Republic of Congo where she has been involved in charity and humanitarian work while studying to achieve her MBA. She currently holds a Diploma in Business administration and an MBA from the London School of Business and Finance.
Mr. Mark Bredenkamp – Project manager and Financial accountant
Mark represent his company PCM Management who are appointed accountants for the business. He has been involved with the development of the financial plan since inception. He is a Management Accountant with deep experience in entrepreneurial finance for many years. He looks after finance and is acting as a project manager while we develop the business in its early stages. He will hand over the finance portfolio to a suitable candidate once established and continue to assist the company as a representative of appointed accounting firm PCM.
Mr. Nagesh Pillai – Factory Manager
Nagesh brings over 20 years of experience in the industry and in production in particular. He worked in his family business Renoli Footwear from 1993 until it shut down in 2004 due to competition from imported product from the East. He also worked for another factory Gravel road where he was a partner until he resigned his partnership in 2009. His expertise in production management, quality control and business administration, a skill he holds various diplomas in as well. Nagesh is a passionate shoemaker with knowledge of the industry in South Africa.
Mr. Thando Soxe Kubheka – Sales and Marketing Director
Thando has graduated with a Diploma in Clothing Design from Durban University of Technology 1993. He began his career at SA Clothing manufacturing before joining Woolworths as a Menswear buyer in 1995. While at Woolworths, Thando was selected to participate in a yearlong and exclusive Retail Academy program. They received advance retail business training from international companies such as Boeing, Kuhn and Nagel and Marks and Spencer. He left Woolworths in 2000 to join Edgars as a Specialist Menswear Buyer in. He is a Founding member of BLINK Magazine (2004 – 2007) where he was responsible for advertising sales and magazine sales. Blink Magazine was a successful startup magazine targeted at emerging black middleclass men in South Africa. The magazine was very successful in the beginning before the collapse of the print media in general and reached a distribution of 20000 copies a month and advertising from big companies such as BMW, Johnnie Walker and Breitling. The success of Blink Magazine was largely due his efforts as a marketing director. Thando, among his other endeavours, established the Africa and Eastern European Sales Channel for Alivemax LLC (a nutritional supplements company) from 2008 to 2012. He ran a fast food franchise called Chesanyama (a Goldbrands franchise) from 2013 to 2015 when it was an emerging trend of braai fast food outlets.
